“All of my accomplishments wouldn’t have been possible without the education I received at Northern Oklahoma College.”
I graduated from Northern Oklahoma College in 2009 with two degrees, one in Music Performance and the other in Technical Theatre. Following NOC, I continued my education at Oklahoma City University where I received my Bachelor of Fine Arts in Theatre with an emphasis in Lighting Design.
The last five years, I have been working as the Resident Lighting Designer at Theatre Memphis in Memphis, TN creating theatre and musical theatre designs. Living in Memphis I have had the opportunity to work with the Tennessee Shakespeare Company, Opera Memphis, Ballet Memphis and Broad Avenue Arts. Most recently while working with Broad Avenue Arts and Young Blood Studios, I designed a light show for a 150 ft. water tower. The Broad Avenue Water Tower light show plays every night and transforms the tower into a beacon of light in the center of the Memphis skyline. This has been my largest work to date, but much more is to come.
Since moving to Memphis I have been nominated for 9 local design awards, winning twice, and in 2016 I won the “Tennessee Arts Commission Individual Artist” grant. The grant is awarded to an outstanding Tennessee artist each year. I am very passionate about lighting, its a powerful art form that normally goes unnoticed and I hope I can share with the world the art of light.
All of my accomplishments wouldn’t have been possible without the education I received at Northern Oklahoma College. The teachers/mentors and the friends I made at NOC is what has propelled me to where I am today!
