Northern Oklahoma College Nursing Instructor Jonie Johnson has been nominated for the March of Dimes Nurse of the Year for clinical practice.
The honor will be awarded Thursday, Nov. 14, 2024 at the Riverwind Casino Showplace Theatre, an awards gala will highlight the maternal and infant health profession, recognize all the finalists, and announce the recipients of the 2024 Nurse of the Year Awards.
This is an awards event and fundraiser that celebrates the healthcare community to recognize excellence and achievements in research, education, quality patient care, innovation and leadership. Each award will be presented to the most outstanding nurse or individual within each of the selected categories.
Johnson has been a member of the NOC Nursing faculty since 2021 and maintains active clinical practice in addition to her faculty role.
“We are proud of our faculty’s contributions to improving the health of our communities. Mrs. Johnson is a role model for future generations of NOC nurses,” said NOC Nursing Division Chair, Dr. Nikole Hicks.
For 86 years, March of Dimes has worked to improve the health of mothers and babies. The March of Dimes March continues to make a tremendous impact in the community through research, education, advocacy and outreach.
