Northern Oklahoma College Stillwater is hosting a Northern Encounter recruiting event on Wednesday, Oct. 4 from 9 a.m. – 11 a.m. at the NOC Classroom Building.
There will be door prizes, free SWAG, campus tour, meetings with faculty/staff, and a drawing for tuition waivers.
According to Vice President for Stillwater Dr. Marsh Howard, this event will be student-centered.
Howard said upon arrival, students will be provided a schedule, much like an average NOC student’s schedule. After a brief welcome and introduction, students will disperse to classrooms throughout campus and will attend “mini-lectures” delivered by NOC faculty and Stillwater community stakeholders.
“Each of the four 10-15 minute “lectures,” will focus on subjects closely related to our academic offerings, but will also showcase our outstanding faculty’s passion projects, the quality of NOC instruction and what it feels like to be a student on our campus,” Howard said.
“Mini-lecture” topics will range from deductive reasoning and critical thinking to forensic accounting. Also, a Q&A Panel covering a range of college, career and community topics with Stillwater community stakeholders, including State Representative Trish Ranson.
“Our plan is to give visiting students a glimpse into the average day at NOC-Stillwater,” Howard added. “We’re confident that students attending this year’s Northern Encounter will recognize the individual attention, direct and high-quality instruction they receive on our campus and will return as part of the NOC Gateway family in the fall of 2024.”
Registration is from 8:45 a.m. – 9 a.m. with the event ending at 11 a.m. Students can register for Northern Encounter HERE .
