Northern Oklahoma College has been notified about a cybersecurity incident which may impact students and employees.
The National Student Clearinghouse (NSC) reported a data breach which occurred due to a vulnerability found in file transfer software that was used by them. The U.S. Department of Education requires that all colleges and universities provide student information to the NSC.
No NOC owned systems are believed to have been affected by this vulnerability.
An investigation is currently ongoing to determine the extent of the breach. There are no details yet as to what records are impacted but they could include personal information for students and employees.
NOC takes student and employee privacy seriously and will continue to monitor the situation. If you are affected by this data breach, notice will be provided by NSC and NOC.
