Northern Oklahoma College Enid Jets’ Baseball hosted a 20-year reunion last Saturday with members of the 2002 NJCAA World Series team and other Jets’ baseball alumni.
Over 20 NOC Enid baseball alumni attended the event held in between games of the Jets and NOC Tonkawa doubleheader at David Allen Memorial Ballpark.
In just their second year of college baseball the Jets, led by coach Raydon Leaton, posted a 43-21 record and were the NJCAA Region 2 Champions, Southwest District Champions, and finished third in the NJCAA Division 2 World Series in Millington, Tennessee.
Coach Leaton, who now coaches in Florida, could not be present but did send a video message played on the David Allen Memorial Ballpark Video Board.
Members of the 2002 team included JT, Albright, Dennis Almy, Ryan Beaman, Tyler Beaver, Jay Bible, Chad Bone, Sean Cawood, Tony Cerar, Marcus Chapman, Bryan Coppock, Chane Cothran, Trent Decker, Brandon Disney, Bernardo Estrada, Travis Gallaway, Michael Garner, Brenan Herrera, Chris Kinter, Jon Kissinger, Brian McKissack, Adam Morton, Darrin Nance, Jared Pitchford, Greg Porter, Joey Prenger, Mark Reftery, Hector Ramirez, JT Severe, J. Michael Sharon, Dusty Sills, Jerrod Spears, Zac Tenison, Dallas Vanderford, Brent Wadley, Eric Wayman, Jason Weber, and Chase Wilson. Assistant coaches were Jeremy Hise and Ryan Bay.
Reunion attendees included Anthony Edwards Jr. (03-05) Joey Prenger (00-02), Brent Wadley (01-03), JR Kirkland (00-02), Eric Wayman (00-02), Darrin Nance (00-02), Aaron McCandles (12-15), Sean Cawood (01-03), Justin Funk (03-05), J.T. Severe (00-02), Bernardo Estrada Jr. (01-03), Chane Cothram (01-02), JJ McMahon (04-05), and Bryan Coppock (02-04).
