Kim Ochoa, currently serving as NOC Administrative Assistant to Student Affairs-Tonkawa, has been named Director of Alumni and Community Relations replacing Mrs. Jill Green who moved into her new role as NOC Director of Development and Donor Relations. She will assume her new duties beginning September 11.
Ochoa will be located in the Vineyard Library Administration Building on the Tonkawa campus and will report directly to the Vice President for Development and Community Relations. As alumni and community relations director, she will serve on the development and community relations team, having direct responsibility for providing programming and services for Northern Oklahoma College alumni as well as community relations efforts for the College. The Director also plays a key role in encouraging alumni involvement in the college-sponsored activities and perpetuating and strengthening ties to their alma mater.
Sheri Snyder, Vice President for Development and Community Relations said, “I look forward to Kim joining our team. With her background in student affairs, she will be able to connect with alumni and continue to build upon those relationships she developed as students and further elevate our alumni engagement at Northern.”
NOC President Cheryl Evans commented, “Kim will be effective and dedicated in her new role. With her enthusiasm and love for NOC, I believe that she can help the College grow and that our alumni, friends and donors will enjoy working with her.”
A 2010 alumna of NOC with an associate’s degree in business administration along with a bachelor’s degree from NWOSU in 2016, Ochoa has worked for Northern Oklahoma College for ten years. She was hired by Northern Oklahoma College in 2009 as the Staff Assistant for the Student Affairs Department and moved to her current role of Administrative Assistant for Student Affairs in 2012. During her tenure at NOC, Kim has served on various institutional committees including the Policy and Procedures Committee, Staff Professional Development Committee and the Wellness Committee.
While not working, she enjoys attending sporting events, reading and spending time with her daughter Gabby, 20. Gabby is a 2019 graduate of Northern Oklahoma College with an associate’s degree in social science and will graduate in the spring of 2020 with a Bachelors of Psychology degree from Northwestern Oklahoma State University. Kim also serves as a mentor with the Character Counts program at the Tonkawa Middle School and is a member of the Tonkawa Pride and Beautification Committee.
“I would like to thank Mrs. Snyder for the opportunity that she has given to me. I am looking forward to building on the relationships that Mrs. Green and the Development Office has cultivated throughout the years and am looking forward to engaging with the students that I have had the opportunity to know over the past 10 years.”
