Kianna DeLodge participated in an internship this semester at the Kay County Detention Center.
DeLodge is a Northern Oklahoma College sophomore majoring in Criminal Justice.

“The internship helped me overcome my fears with being in a jail and helped me put myself out there with people in law enforcement,” said DeLodge.
Troy Cochran, the director of Criminal Justice at Northern Oklahoma is “excited to bring internships to his students to see the real world applications of what is being taught in the classroom.”
Captain Bill Grose supervised DeLodge’s internship. She said, “Captain Grose was very helpful when I needed additional information to understand certain types of situations. I found him to be very resourceful and witty.” Delodge added, “Captain Grose was understanding and worked with me during my internship to accommodate my work and school schedule.”
DeLodge is a Native American of Ponca descent. After graduation from NOC, she plans to complete her Bachelors and Masters degrees then apply with the Bureau of Indian Affairs and begin a career in law enforcement.
